Hi, I’m Catherine the founder and designer behind Olive & Mac.

From my studio in Kent, I create bespoke wedding and celebration cakes for couples and clients across London, the South East and beyond.

Baking has always brought me comfort and joy - something that runs deep, having grown up surrounded by family bakeries and the stories that came with them. For me, celebrations should feel thoughtful, meaningful and personal.

The Story behind the name

I come from a family of bakers, with my grandparents owning several bakeries where I grew up. Some of my earliest memories are of listening to my dad share stories of early mornings in the bakery - the smell of freshly baked breads, cakes and pastries, and the care that went into making them.

Those moments quietly shaped my love of baking.

My Background

Before cake design, my background is in fashion and hair and makeup across weddings, television and film. This shaped my eye for proportion and detail, and taught me how to remain calm under pressure.

When family life came along, I wanted a creative career closer to home - that allowed me to bring together design, flavour and the joy of celebrating life’s most meaningful moments. Olive & Mac grew from that desire, named as a quiet tribute to my grandparents, Olive and Mac, whose love of baking first inspired it all.

That same care and intention sits at the heart of every cake or treat I create today.

My Values

What matters most to me is that every client feels truly supported. I value open, honest communication and a thoughtful, collaborative approach, where ideas are listened to and guidance is offered with care. I want you to feel confident in your decisions, excited by the process and reassured that every detail is being handled with intention.

From our first conversation to the final creation, my aim is for you to feel understood, trusted and at ease, knowing your cake is in safe hands. These principles shape how I work and form the values at the heart of Olive & Mac.

Kind Words

Dear Catherine, i want to say a huge thank you for the beautiful first communion cake, it received so many compliments from our family and friends. May i also add that the cake looked exceptionally better than the inspiration I shared initially: Thank you. Everyone also complimented how amazing it tasted, both the lemon and Victoria sponge were delightful. Thank you for all your efforts in producing such a magnificent cake.

This is a collaborative, considered process, allowing ideas to evolve naturally into a wedding cake that feels beautifully personal to you and your celebration.
